In summer we were very excited to have teamed up with the very marvellous Mi-Pac, who make brilliant and unique accessories! We launched a competition in August offering a gorgeous Mi-Pac bag and a box of Portlebay Popcorn to 3 lucky winners, and we are delighted to announce that we are teaming up with them again for Day 23 of our Christmas Advent Competition (launching at 5pm tonight).
A little bit about Mi-Pac…
At Mi-Pac they like to mix it up and work with a whole collective of talented designers, and team up with like-minded brands to create unique and exclusive products! They travel the world gathering materials and sourcing inspiration from every corner of the globe (how cool, can we come?).
They strive for their accessories to be both functional and fashionable, but refuse to compromise on quality. Available in an array of block colours, Mi-Pac have oodles of signature prints and premium finishes – there really is a Mi-Pac for everyone!
To be in with a chance of winning some Mi-Pac accessories and a box of our Portlebay Popcorn, don’t forget to check out our social media page (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) and follow the instructions! (The competition launches at 5pm tonight!).
It is officially 6 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS! With the big day fast approaching, we are all busy using up miles of wrapping paper and sending our festive wishes to all our friends and family. To bring a little extra Christmas cheer why not pop over to our social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) to enter Day 6 of our Christmas Advent Competition, and be in with a chance of winning a box of Portlebay Popcorn and a gorgeous gift from Bookishly! (This competition launches at 5pm tonight)
Bookishly create gorgeous prints with quotes from classic literature, movies and songs. Each print is created using an original and vintage book page, making each one a little bit unique and very special. Each print also consists of the wonky old font that is exclusive to Bookishly and is based on hand drawn lettering. You won’t see it anywhere else!
Louise Verity is the owner of Bookishly, and lives in Northamptonshire with her husband and young children. She likes John Hughes movies, cake and the smell of new books. She dislikes Marmite and ironing.
Bookishly was first established in 2009 as Wall Envy Art, and rebranded in 2013. It all started with an antique French dictionary and owner Louise’s, grandfather’s set of water colours. As time progressed, so did the range of products. The signature book page prints are still popular but you’ll now find a number of new items thrown in to the mix: personalised star chart prints, book club subscriptions, and various stationery pieces to name a few.
Bookishly designs have been featured in a number of national and international magazines and blogs, including Stylist, The Huffington Post, Apartment Therapy and Ideal Home among others. More recently, their products have been shown on ITV’s This Morning and featured in the YouTube videos of Zoella and Meg Says.
Day 15 of the advent competition welcomes our partner Rubies in the Rubble! Rubies in the Rubble is a sustainable food brand committed to fighting food waste. They create award-winning products from fruit and veg that would otherwise be wasted due to shape, size and colour. In other words, condiments with a conscience…Their ingredients have to pass a taste test, not a beauty contest. It doesn’t matter if it’s too big, too ripe or just plain pear-shaped. What matters to them is making the best condiments around! Check them out here!
Rubies in the Rubble founder, Jenny, started reading about the problem of food waste after seeing the amount of discarded produce at fruit & veg markets across London.
Beautiful mangoes, cranberries & tomatoes all headed for landfill, often because
they simply didn’t look right.
Although much of the discarded produce is perfectly edible, much is
thrown away due to aesthetic imperfections, over-forecasted demand or
inefficiency in storing & distributing.
The scale of the problem of food waste got Jenny thinking about what
could be done with all this surplus produce. Surely there was a way of
creating a delicious, first-class product using excess produce?
Armed with some family recipes and a car-bootful of rescued fruit & veg
from the New Covent Garden market, the experimentation in the kitchen
We absolutely adore Rubies in the Rubble’s ethos and are very delighted that they are a part of our competition. To be in with a chance of winning some of these scrumptious condiments and a box of our Portlebay Popcorn, head over to our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and follow the instructions! (The competition launches at 5pm!)
If you haven’t heard already, this Christmas we are running our biggest competition to date: 24 days of wonderful competitions, with 31 prizes to be won! Each day we are working with a different company, offering very exciting prizes (which of course all include a box of Portlebay Popcorn!).
It’s now Day 2 of our marvellous advent competition, and we have teamed up with the very, very cool team at Jubël!
Jubël? What’s Jubël do I hear you say? Jubël means ‘a feeling of joy’. Although this doesn’t tell us exactly what the Jubël product is, you can’t deny that it’s already sounding exciting!
Jubël was born in the Alps at an après ski bar, when co-founders Tom and Jesse discovered a popular beer tradition, known locally as a “demi-pèche”. This alternative take on a shandy blends the syrupy sweetness of peach, with the refreshing taste of a classic beer, warming you from your ski socks to your fetching bobble hat! Finding nothing like it back home, they decided to bring peach to the people, and so quit their jobs to launch the beer, brand and business in Cornwall.
Jubël bridges the gap between bland beers and super sweet ciders as a natural peach lager and at 4% ABV it is refreshing, easy-drinking and perfectly balanced. Jubël launched in May 2017, and is now available in 250+ pubs and bars across the South West, from Bristol to Lands End!
Don’t forget to enter our Portlebay Advent Competition! Just head over to our social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) to be in with a chance to win some very exciting goodies! GOOD LUCK! (This competition launches at 5pm tonight!).
